The Board of Directors of Archery Guyana Inc. on Friday announced that Guyana will host a World Archery Level Two Coaching Course from October 26-30 at the Guyana Olympic Association headquarters at Liliendaal.
The continental coaching development programme is being delivered in collaboration with World Archery Americas, with support through Olympic Solidarity, and provides an important development opportunity for National Federations within the Americas.
The course comes immediately on the heels of the 2026 Caribbean Archery Championships and eighth Caribbean Developmental Championships, which will be hosted by Guyana from October 22-25 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
Archery Guyana said: “The back-to-back international competition and coach education programmes represent a significant investment in the continued development of archery in Guyana. While the championships will provide athletes and officials with an international competition platform, the Level Two course will focus on strengthening the technical capacity of coaches who will support the next generation of Guyanese archers.”
“World Archery identifies coach education as a key component of athlete development. Its Level Two coaching programme addresses intermediate coaching skills, including advanced technique, equipment study and tuning, biomechanics and psychology.”
The participants will join a structured programme designed to enhance their coaching knowledge and practical skills and to strengthen the coaching pathway available to athletes in Guyana.
Leading the course will be World Archery Certified Coach Trainer Ludys Tejada, together with Assistant Trainer and Level Two Coach Ryan McKinnon of Guyana.

President of Archery Guyana, Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, welcomed the opportunity, noting that the timing of the programme creates a unique continuum from international competition to technical development.
“It is particularly meaningful that immediately after Guyana hosts an international archery championship, we will welcome a continental-level coaching development programme. We are not simply bringing an event to Guyana; we are using the opportunity to build capacity that will remain long after the medals have been awarded.”
Archery Guyana has extended its appreciation to Godfrey Munroe, President of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA), and the Executive Committee of the GOA for their support of this important development initiative.
Archery Guyana concluded: “The Federation also acknowledges World Archery Americas and Olympic Solidarity for their continued commitment to strengthening sport development through education and capacity building. Olympic Solidarity supports development projects through National Olympic Committees, including programmes focused on coach education.”
