(Kaieteur News) – Thousands of fans turned out on Sunday for the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) Berbice Invasion drag race meet, representing one of the largest fan turnouts of any event outside the South Dakota Circuit.

The event marked the first time the Rose Hall Canjie venue hosted timebracket drag racing in GMR&SC’s modern history.

GMR&SC President Mohamed Shairaz Roshandin said, “We want to thank all the fans, spectators, and racers who turned out yesterday for our Berbice Invasion. The support and love the ancient county gave GMR&SC left me speechless; I and the team were heartened by the enthusiasm for the event.”
