(Kaieteur News) – The lush greens of the Lusignan Golf Club provided the perfect setting on Sunday, September 27, as the National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) continued Tour #3 with an exciting Round 2, sponsored by Promotech and Genuine Auto Spares and Tools.

Under bright sunshine and ideal playing conditions, golfers took to the course eager to test their skills, sharpen their games and build momentum as the tournament progresses. Newcomer Oliver Downes is the latest winner in the Promotech, Genuine Auto Spares and Tools NTFGL Tour #3 Golf Tournament.

The competition produced some impressive scores, with newcomer Oliver Downes emerging as the day’s top performer. Downes carded a net 71, including a net 32 on the back nine, to claim top honours and collect 10 valuable points.

Another new member, George Bulkan, finished with a net 72 but endured two tiebreakers during the day. He first lost the front-nine tiebreaker to Joseph Szeplaki, who secured two points with a net 35. Bulkan later faced another tiebreaker for second place after matching Mike Mangal’s net 72. Mangal prevailed to claim second place and five points, while Bulkan settled for third and three points.

The battle for fourth and fifth was equally competitive, with Patrick Prashad and Ian Gouveia both posting net 74. Prashad’s net 35 on the back nine secured the tiebreaker and earned him two points, while Gouveia collected one point.

With 10 players already earning points in the third round, the standings are beginning to take shape. Downes leads with 10 points, followed by Chet Bowling and Mangal on eight each, while Videsh Persaud has five.

The excitement continues on Sunday, October 4, when golfers return to the lush fairways for the next round, with players expected to step up their practice and competition as Tour #3 intensifies.
