Dear Editor,
I thank Mr. Hydar Ally for his letter published under the title, “Guyana is poorer for the passing of these two men.”
Mr. Hydar Ally should know that he is recognised by those who interacted with him in the 90s when he held the position as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education as a dedicated servant to this country.
I wonder if the current government is aware of the contributions of this man to his country or he is numbered as the forgotten.
Like myself, there exist persons who cannot forget the high quality of such as Mr. Hydar Ally, one such example being his current letter referring to two giants of service, Dr. Rovin Deodat and Dr. Ian MacDonald.
Others like these are alive but possibly recognised as dead, though alive. Let us find them and afford them a degree of respect.
I am receiving such adequately from many even now in my predeath days, especially as a ‘bad’ teacher.
Yours respectfully,
Krishna Nand Prasad
