…third consecutive win for Guyana in League B
By Rawle Toney
(Kaieteur News) – The Golden Jaguars strengthened their grip on Group A of League B in the Concacaf Nations League yesterday, cruising to a convincing 5-1 victory over Dominica in Puerto Rico to register their third consecutive win in the competition.
The result keeps Guyana unbeaten in this year’s Nations League and firmly on course to qualify for the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup in Mexico and promotion to League A.
Head coach Marco Bonofiglio entered the contest having already guided Guyana to victories over Puerto Rico (1-0) and the Cayman Islands (2-0), with his sights firmly set on securing a place at Concacaf’s flagship national-team tournament next year.
The Golden Jaguars made a perfect start through their two leading attacking threats, Osaze De Rosario and Omari Glasgow.
Guyana stormed to a 5-1 win over Dominica to stay perfect in League B’s Group A in the CONCACAF Nations League.
De Rosario opened the scoring in the 27th minute, rising to head Guyana into the lead and register his 13th international goal.
Glasgow then doubled the advantage four minutes before halftime, curling a well-struck free-kick beyond the Dominica defence for his 22nd international goal, further extending his status as Guyana’s all-time leading scorer.
Guyana carried a 2-0 advantage into the break before Bonofiglio made a series of changes, introducing Darron Niles, Enoch George, Leo Lovell, Curtez Kellman and Imani Barker for Raushan Ritch, Omari Glasgow, Nathan Furgeson, Liam Gordon and De Rosario.
The changes did little to disrupt Guyana’s momentum.
Five minutes into the second half, De Rosario, before being substituted, found Deon Moore inside the penalty area, and the Torquay United FC forward made no mistake, finishing clinically to score his sixth international goal and put Guyana three goals clear.

Dominica responded when Troy Jules pulled one back after his effort beat advancing goalkeeper Quillon Roberts. Jalen Jones attempted to recover, but the Guyanese defender’s clearance came after the ball had already crossed the goal line.
The setback did not derail the Golden Jaguars.
Slingerz FC winger Kelsey Benjamin restored Guyana’s three-goal cushion in the 79th minute, converting his eighth international goal after De Rosario once again provided the assist with a timely layoff inside the box.
With the result effectively settled, Enoch George added further gloss just before the final whistle.
The SVV Scheveningen midfielder found the net to complete a comprehensive 5-1 victory and cap another impressive night for the Golden Jaguars.
Guyana will face Dominica again on Sunday in Puerto Rico, with another opportunity to strengthen its position at the top of Group A.
After completing their matches in Puerto Rico, the Golden Jaguars will return home to face Puerto Rico and the Cayman Islands.
