The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Limited (GBTI) continues to expand its banking network with the addition of a new Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at the AC Marriott Hotel Georgetown, bringing greater convenience and easier access to cash services for customers, hotel guests, visitors and members of the wider community.

The new ATM provides an additional banking touchpoint within the growing Ogle area, making it easier for persons living, working, travelling and conducting business in the area to access essential ATM services. With the continued development of the East Coast corridor and the expansion of businesses, residential communities, hospitality and commercial activity in and around Ogle, the new location provides customers with greater accessibility to GBTI’s services where they need them.

The installation is part of GBTI’s continued efforts to enhance the customer experience by expanding access to convenient banking services beyond its traditional branch network. By strategically placing ATMs in locations that experience significant commercial, residential and visitor activity, GBTI is making banking more accessible and convenient for Guyanese and visitors alike.

The location at the AC Marriott Hotel also provides an important service point for persons visiting Guyana, particularly guests travelling for business or leisure. Adding to the convenience, all GBTI ATMs accept both Visa and Mastercard, providing local and international cardholders with greater flexibility and convenient access to cash while in Guyana.

Bringing Guyana’s Beauty to GBTI ATM’s

GBTI has added a distinctive Guyanese touch to their new installation. The ATM features a vibrant wrap showcasing elements of Guyana’s flora and fauna, including the Canje Pheasant, Guyana’s national bird, the Harpy Eagle, and the Giant Water Lily, Guyana’s national flower.

The design forms part of GBTI’s broader initiative to promote Guyana through its ATM network and bank cards. By incorporating iconic elements of Guyana’s natural heritage into everyday banking experiences, GBTI is creating greater visibility for the country’s unique biodiversity while showcasing aspects of Guyanese identity to both local and international audiences.

The AC Marriott Hotel location is particularly fitting for this initiative given its connection to Guyana’s growing hospitality and tourism sector. The ATM not only provides a practical banking service to hotel guests and visitors but also gives them an opportunity to encounter visual representations of Guyana’s natural beauty.

Expanding Access as Guyana Grows

As Guyana continues to grow and new communities and businesses emerge, GBTI remains focused on evolving its banking network to respond to the needs of its customers.

The new ATM at the AC Marriott Hotel therefore represents another step in GBTI’s commitment to convenience, accessibility and better service for Guyanese, while simultaneously celebrating the country through the promotion of Guyana’s landscapes (GBTI press release)
