Three Mile Secondary’s female clash against Bartica Secondary in the inaugural ExxonMobil Under-18 Schools Football Tournament has been moved to Friday at 14:00 local time.

The fixture, originally set for Wednesday, will still take place at the Bartica Community Centre Ground. Organisers confirmed the change to align with Ministry of Education guidelines requiring school sports fixtures to be held on Fridays.

Region Seven action is already underway after Three Mile’s emphatic 4-0 win over Bartica in the opening boys’ match of the competition, organised by the Vurlon Mills Football Academy.

All remaining fixtures stay as planned, with several regional zones launching their campaigns on Friday, 9 October. On the East Bank of Demerara, Dora Secondary face Covent Garden Secondary in a boys’ clash at Providence from 15:00.

Over on the East Coast of Demerara, action starts at Plaisance with Bladen Hall meeting Annandale in the female competition at 14:00, before Plaisance take on Beterverwagting in the boys’ division at 15:30.

Region Six also gets going on Friday, where New Amsterdam Secondary meet Tutorial Academy at All Saints in a 14:00 female fixture.

Both Georgetown zones feature stacked schedules on the same afternoon. In Georgetown North, Queen’s College take on Tutorial High in both female and male matches, while Campbellville Secondary meet North Georgetown Secondary in the girls’ division.

In Georgetown South, East Ruimveldt Secondary and Lodge Secondary clash across both divisions at West Ruimveldt, while Tucville Secondary hosts Charlestown Secondary in another double-header.

Region Three enters the fold on Saturday, 10 October at Friendship Park with a four-match boys’ bill. Westminster Secondary kick off against DeWillem at 10:00, followed by Leonora against Stewartville at noon, West Demerara versus Uitvlugt at 14:00, and Vreed-en-Hoop taking on Patentia at 16:00.

The tournament will continue across the country over the coming weeks. Region One’s Mabaruma zone begins on 15 October, followed by the Moruca zone and Region Ten on 16 October.

Region Five enters on 17 October, with Region Two set to complete the regional lineup on 23 October.
