Sixteen teams will chase places in the Courts Optical Pee Wee football quarter-finals today.

Sixteen teams will chase places in the Courts Optical Pee Wee football quarter-finals today, when the competition’s knockout action unfolds at the Ministry of Education Ground on Carifesta Avenue.

Eight round-of-16 matches are scheduled across four time slots, starting at noon, with defending champions Leonora among the teams seeking to keep their tournament hopes alive.

Redeemer and Potaro will meet in one of the two opening fixtures at 12:00 hrs. St John and GIA 1 will contest the other, setting the afternoon’s qualification battle in motion.

Attention then turns to the 13:00 hrs encounters, when Pakuri take on Tucville and Leonora face St Theresa. For the defending champions, victory would move them another step towards retaining their crown.

The next pair of matches kicks off at 14:00 hrs, with West Ruimveldt facing Plaisance and St Pius meeting Marian Academy.

Santa Rosa Secondary, St Gabriel’s, GIA 2 and Waramuri will have to wait until the final time slot to settle their places. Santa Rosa Secondary meet St Gabriel’s at 15:00 hrs, while GIA 2 tackle Waramuri as the round-of-16 programme comes to a close.
