The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) is pleased to announce that its Urgent Care Centre (UCC), formerly the Medical Outpatient Department (MOPD), went live with the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system on August 22, 2026. The UCC is the second facility under GPHC’s supervision to successfully implement the EHR.
Progress to Date
As of October 7, 2026, the UCC has recorded 5,024 patient encounters and registered 3,679 new patients in the system.
Before go-live, all UCC staff, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory staff, and registration staff, were trained on the platform. The UCC is now fully paperless, and all patient records are documented in the EHR.
Next Phase: Main Campus Outpatient Clinics
The next phase of the EHR roll-out will take place at the outpatient clinics on the ground floor of the GPHC Main Campus, namely:
- Medical Clinic
- Eye Clinic
- Paediatrics Clinic
- Surgical Clinic
Mass Registration
On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, mass registration commenced at three locations at GPHC:
- Pharmacy Foyer
- Eye Clinic area
- Medical Clinic
Registering now means that when the clinics go live, patients will not need to register again to access services. Instead, they will simply provide their Medical Record Number (MRN) (patient ID) and proceed directly to triage, making the process quicker and smoother.
GPHC encourages all persons who have not yet registered, and who may access services at GPHC, to take advantage of the mass registration exercise. Please bring your national identification, which is used solely to verify your identity and ensure your record is accurate.
GPHC thanks the public for its continued support and cooperation as it works to modernise healthcare delivery and improve the patient experience (GPHC press release)
